Taylor, Stephen "DeWayne"

A mom will tell on you!
Story about DeWayne from his mother, Linda Taylor:

DeWayne and future wife Karen Boshoff decided to travel to Monroe one weekend to visit DeWayne's parents, Donnie and Linda. While driving from Raleigh toward Monroe on Highway 74 West near Marshville, Karen was almost nauseated by a strong odor. She looked accusingly at DeWayne and asked what that terrible smell was? She thought DeWayne had passed gas in the car. It was early in their relationship and frankly, Karen was shocked! Okay, so VERY early in their relationship.

Well DeWayne rolled down the window and breathed in real deep. He stuck out his chest and said, "Honey that is the smell of Union County money!"

DeWayne explained that the odor was coming from a chicken processing plant.  He had recently read that poultry production contributes 40% of the total North Carolina farm income and that the state is ranked third nationally in poultry production.

To this day, Linda and Donnie laugh about this story. Linda is very happy that Karen is an understanding and accommodating wife with a good sense of humor.

Everybody in the family always loved DeWayne.
Here he is with Cousin Ellen Yancey.
